DOC McCARTHY MEMORIAL

6-1/2" Width of Flower, 34" Height of Scape.  Hybridized by Tom Rood and registered late fall 2004.

Description: Large flowered bold yellow with a maroon eyezone and yellow to green throat. Heavy substance. Mid-late bloom season.  Semi-evergreen tetraploid with blooms extended into evening.  Makes a stunning center piece to a perennial garden setting.
Named for a very dear friend Dr. Eugene McCarthy who was loved by all who had the pleasure to know him.  Entered into the AHS Region 4's hybridizer's seedling competition in Ontario Canada in 2004 but DOC McCARTHY MEMORIAL's season of bloom was later than then the judging period.  Later blooming daylilies are in demand to carry the season of blooming daylilies into August and beyond in upstate NY.
