5" Width of Flower, 36" Height of Scape, Hybridized by Josie Bennett, Introduced by Tom Rood 2002 Description: The late Josie Bennett, wife of Rochester's Dick Bennett, only hybridized one plant. It was not introduced but sold as an un-named garden seedling. Tom later discovered it at a daylily sale in Buffalo and bought all the fans available. Tom thought Jossie deserved recognition for her creation and had Josie sign the registration form just before she passed away. JOSIE BENNETT is a memorial to a very fine lady. It is a tall plant bearing a lavender bitone bloom above a yellow to green throat. It increases well with four way branching with 24 buds per scape. Dormant mid-season bloomer. It looked so wonderful in the garden last summer that we sold it down to just a double fan remaining. Double fan $10 |
